Alitalia’s long-haul revenues and passenger increase continues in October, the twenty-fourth consecutive month of growth
Alitalia’s long-haul revenues and passengers increase continues the growth trend and the Italian airline reported in October 2019 the twenty-fourth consecutive month of growth.
The preliminary figures of October show an increase in revenues in the intercontinental sector by 7.5 per cent, compared to the same month of 2018. Passengers on long-haul routes (251,304 travelers carried on intercontinental flights in October) grew by 7.8 per cent versus October 2018.
Thanks to the excellent performance on long-haul routes, Alitalia’s passenger revenues in the tenth month of 2019 showed a slight growth, despite the air transport strikes in Italy occurred on 9 and 25 October: an increase by 0.7 per cent compared to October 2018 which had seen revenues increased by 6.7 per cent versus the same month of 2017.
In October Alitalia carried 1,827,567 passengers with a load factor equal to 80.4 per cent, increased by 1.5 percentage points versus the same month of the previous year.
As of 31 October 2019, the airline's liquidity amounted to 315 million euros (plus the deposit at IATA), compared to 310 million euros at the end of September.
