Alitalia: special measures to minimize inconvenience due to a strike scheduled on 22 September

The trade unions Anpac, Anpav and Usb, representing some of the Alitalia pilots and flight attendants, have confirmed a 24 hours strike on 22 September, despite cancellation of industrial action by the national unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uil Trasporti and Ugl.

As a consequence, Alitalia was forced to cancel many flights scheduled on 22 September. The airline has immediately taken special measures to minimise inconvenience to its customers, by rebooking as many of the passengers affected by cancellations as possible on the first available flights.

Alitalia has set up special call center numbers for information and assistance: +39 06 65649 from overseas and toll-free number 800 650 055 from Italy. Alitalia invites all passengers travelling on 22 September to check the status of their flights through those numbers, before going to the airport.

Additional staff will be on hand in the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to assist customers, and additional call centre staff added to ensure the best assistance possible.

Detailed information on re-booking is available at Passengers can choose whether to get refund of their tickets or rebooking their flights free of charge within 30 November, by calling the call centre numbers +39 06 65649 or 800 650 055.

Alitalia apologizes for the inevitable inconvenience caused by the decision of some trade unions to confirm the strike.
