Fire at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Flight delays and cancellations are also expected from other airports.
Alitalia informs that, due to a fire that broke out at Terminal 3, for the disposal of the Aviation Authorities, Rome Fiumicino Airport is closed to all departures until 2PM and it is opened only for the arrival of intercontinental flights.
For this reason, Alitalia has been forced to cancel all flights that should have departed from Rome Fiumicino within 2PM and also all flights with expected arrival to Fiumicino within 2PM, with the only exception of intercontinental flights expected to arrive this morning.
Alitalia invites all passengers leaving today from Rome Fiumicino not to reach the airport until it will be reopened.
Delays and cancellations on the entire Alitalia’s network are expected for all day long. All passengers involved by flight cancellations can be rebooked on new Alitalia flights by changing their flight reservation within Sunday May 10, or they can ask for refund only if their flight has been cancelled.
