For those MilleMiglia customers whose miles expired at the end of the last MilleMiglia 2008-2012 programme will have until the 11th May, to reclaim unused miles.
With just 4 Alitalia flights taken by 11th May, members can reclaim between 10,000 to 80,000 miles. So far 16,000 customers have already benefited from the initiative, reclaiming a total of around 300 million miles.
This is one of the first commercial initiatives aimed at frequent flyers following the entry of the MilleMiglia programme into Global Loyalty Company (GLC), the company specialising in loyalty and lifestyle programmes which allows Etihad Airways and its partners to target the global loyalty markets more effectively whilst developing commercial and technological synergies. On the 21st January, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, acquired a 75% stake in Alitalia Loyalty, the owner and operator of the MilleMiglia programme, as part of its investment in Alitalia.
GLC consists, not only of MilleMiglia, but also of Etihad Airways’ “Etihad Guest”, airberlin’s “topbonus” and Jet Airways’ “JetPrivilege programs, with a total of 14 million members worldwide.
