 On 27 July 2001, Alitalia becomes a member of the SkyTeam alliance that today unites nine of the world’s leading airlines (Northwest, KLM, Air France, Continental, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, AeroMexico, CSA Czech Airlines and Aeroflot). A year later, the first B-777 aircraft, the world’s largest twinjet, joins the fleet.
