 Malpensa airport, the Company’s new hub, opens in Milan in 1998. On 31 December a baby is born on Alitalia flight AZ 505, heading from Bucharest to Malpensa. In 2000, Alitalia Airport is set up to manage airport handling services including aircraft and passenger assistance.
