ALITALIA: 9 NEW INTERNATIONAL ROUTES FROM ROME
Alitalia’s International and Intercontinental Network from Rome Fiumicino has expanded with nine new destinations: Copenaghen (Denmark), Cracow (Poland), Yekaterinburg (Russia), Oran (Algeria), Podgorica (Montenegro), Bilbao (Spain) and Montpellier (France), as well as new seasonal destinations served from June to September: Antalya (Turkey) and Djerba (Tunisia).
These 9 new routes add to the 6 international and intercontinental connections from the Company hub in Rome Fiumicino that Alitalia inaugurated between 2012 and early 2013: Tbilisi (July 5, 2012), Zurich (October 29, 2012), Abu Dhabi (December 1, 2012), Yerevan (December 11, 2012), Fortaleza (January 14, 2013) and Prague (January 29, 2013).
SEASONAL CONNECTIONS
Starting from May, seasonal flights will be operative again from Rome Fiumicino to Los Angeles and to Chicago. From June to September, seasonal flights will be reactivated from Rome Fiumicino to Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes and Trapani, and from Trieste to Olbia. From July, flights will connect again Lampedusa and Pantelleria to Rome Fiumicino and to Milan Linate.
INCREASED FREQUENCY
From May, Alitalia will consolidate its presence at JFK airport in New York instead of Newark airport. Weekly flights from Rome Fiumicino to New York JFK will increase from 14 to 19: on this route Alitalia will offer three daily flights, with the exceptions of Wednesdays and Fridays.
During 2013 summer season, Alitalia will also strengthen its presence on domestic and international markets by increasing frequency on the routes:
AIR ONE SMART CARRIER NEWS
Air One will operate from the 4 bases of Milan Malpensa, Venice, Pisa and Catania. It will serve 42 routes to 31 destinations, of which 16 in Italy and 15 abroad, for a total of over 450 weekly flights.
One of the hottest piece of news on 2013 summer season relates to direct flights from Milan Malpensa, Catania and Pisa to Saint Petersburg that will add to the existing connection from Venice.Connections with Russia will be strengthened also by means of new direct flights from Catania to Moscow and Rostov, from Pisa to Moscow and from Venice to Samara. From Venice base Air One will inaugurate a new direct connection to Copenhagen and new domestic flights to Naples, Lamezia and Bari.
